Barring any natural events UPFA and Mahinda Rajapakse is for a another 8 full years of undisturbed control of Sri Lanka.

The western media leaded by the Times in london and Le monde in parise is on a whitch hunt against Sri Lanka over alleged civilian killings at the Last of the Elam wars. The motive for this relentless campaign is debated. It could be tamil funded journalists or humiliation of the western leaders like Miliband and Counchner or pure humanitarian reasons.

The actual numbre of civilians died is controvertial. Sri Lankan government sources say it is 3,000-5,000 but the LTTE sympathysers give a figure of 20,000. Historically GOSL underestimated numbers and the LTTE tamils overestimated for obvious reasons. My guess is it is somewhere in between say circa 10,000. Every civilian death is one too meny, I have no dought about that.

For theses imbeciles only North America and Europe are the world and International community.

The United Nations Human Rights Council has offered support to Sri Lanka`s humanitarian efforts as it recovers from its war with Tamil Tiger rebels.

However, the emergency session resolution did not mention granting UN aid agencies full access to the 300,000 displaced people in army-run camps.

Human rights groups said it ignored claims of abuse by the army and rebels.

The First Phase of the Elam war is nearing its end for sure following the last weeks route of the LTTE war machine. Yet those who believe that this is the end of all of the Tamil Terror is sadly mistaken.

Tamil and Sinhalese struggle for control over the emerald isle of the idian ocean is over 2000 years old and will last a lot longer unless steps are taken to eliminate existance of tamil concentraitons. No degree of economic development will permanatly put to rest this power struggle lasted for over two millania.
