Travel to Jaffna railway station by Camera Monday, 2 November 2009 - 1:32 AM SL Time

The talk has cropped up about rebuilding the northern railway track up to Jaffna. For most of us the train is like a leisure than a mode of transport. To go to Jaffna and Talaimannar it is not only a railway track is important but a lasting peace. The Tamils can live in this land as a brother community in this land unified by the british, through political dialogue and not through war.

The government should be more focused on this aspect and people should be more concerned about this fact

The Rains of Death in Gaza Monday, 29 December 2008 - 1:24 PM SL Time

From Laila El-Haddad, from her Raising Yousuf and Noor blog.

We woke up this morning to the news in Gaza. It seems we always wake up to news there- so its become a matter of perspective how bad the news is each time how remote it seems each time how real or not how severe-and whether the severity warrants an international outcry or whether the animals can continue to fester in their cages for a while longer.

We received a call from my in-laws in Lebanon at an early hour, checking in on my family in Gaza, since they cannot call them directly. We call my parents. My father does not answer. We call his mobile- we reach him. He has just returned from Shifa hospital- we hold our breaths.

Postcards From The Edge Friday, 26 December 2008 - 8:54 PM SL Time

I found these while snooping around for the real story in Rwanda. There is, apparently, a large posse of people following NATO around to keep records of the lies and distortions in its wake. I don`t know who the artist is perhaps Mike Collins would be a very good guess but both the graphics and the politics are really quite stunning. Very G. The site itself is entitle

Obama, Malcom X and the `House Negroes` Thursday, 20 November 2008 - 9:36 PM SL Time

Ayman Zawahiri, bin Laden`s so-called `deputy`, branded President-Elect Barack Obama as a `house negro` of the same kind that civil rights leader, OAAU and former Nation of Islam member Malcolm X mentioned in a speech discussing the difference between a `field negro` and a `house negro`. Malcolm X stated that

To understand this, you have to go back to what [the] young brother here referred to as the house Negro and the field Negro back during slavery. There was two kinds of slaves. There was the house Negro and the field Negro. The house Negroes they lived in the house with master, they dressed pretty good, they ate good `cause they ate his food what he left. They lived in the attic or the basement, but still they lived near the master and they loved their master more than the master loved himself. They would give their life to save the master`s house quicker than the master would. The house Negro, if the master said, We got a good house here, the house Negro would say, Yeah, we got a good house here. Whenever the master said we, he said we. That`s how you can tell a house Negro.

Lion Was Auctioned Tuesday, 11 November 2008 - 8:25 AM SL Time

This unusual lion coffee table was auctioned on eBay a few months ago. It is paper mache and signed by the artist. D-Listed Decor compares it to a Jeff Koons sculpture, which I think is apt.

McCain set for surprise Victory Saturday, 1 November 2008 - 7:24 AM SL Time

On 31 October an average of the national polls put Obama only 5.1% ahead (Obama 49.3, McCain 44.2).

The trend is that the lead is decreasing by 0.175% per day. So, by November 4th, Obama`s lead will be just a tad over 4%.

4% is one in twenty-five voters. -So if one in fifty voters changes sides (which seems possible if they get in the booth and think nigger ), it will be neck and neck.

Dumb f***s all over the world think it`s a `lock` (as they say) and that they don`t even need to vote because the margin is so great. With a bit of creative voter fraud (making Obama win way ahead of the polls in areas where it does not matter, and making McCain just win in areas where it does matter), a McCain win could be made to look pretty reasonable and fair in a chaotic political climate.

Weapon of Mass Destruction Friday, 31 October 2008 - 10:00 AM SL Time

Dresden was a peaceful and picturesque town on February 13, 1945. The city was full of refugees fleeing the Russian army, serving as hospital to the civilian wounded. A place of refuge far away from a war that was almost lost. It is estimated nearly a million people were in the city that day. The city was of no military importance the only industry in the city was making China and the war was at it`s end.

That night Dresden changed forever. That night, the phosphorous bombs began to fall from British and American bombers. The raid lasted 14 hours.
