How to Handle the HANDLES and the Monkeys Ha Ha Ha Ha Wednesday, 9 November 2011 - 2:07 PM SL Time

`The other day I made a comment on someone`s blog and I noticed I was the only one that put my online pseudonym into the name field,` MetaFilter founder Matt Haughey once wrote of the changing nature of online self-identification. Haughey had found himself the lone alias in a field full of real-life, first-and-last-named commenters. `This is one of those moments when you notice you`re becoming a dinosaur,` he wrote.

That was 2003. Since then, the trend toward aligning our online and offline personas has only accelerated. Today, humans stake online claims to their real-life names before they can even form words or survive outside the womb.

Only the Diaspora Lankans know that what we have in Lanka is a Law of the Jungle - or Call it Vandura (Monkey) Law & Order - BTW Monkey is a favourite Word in the LNP:))) Wednesday, 9 November 2011 - 11:37 AM SL Time

One could surmise that the masses are pushed towards unlawful action in the belief that the law does not take its due course. This has spread from setting fire to a bus after a fatal accident to attacking and setting fire to police stations. The attack on Angulana Police Station after a double murder and setting fire to Dompe Police station all point to the same trend. We could add several lives lost due to `grease devil` incidents as well. The most recent incident was the destruction of the property of the suspects involved in the killing of a doctor in the Karandeniya area. The killing had taken place a month ago.

C $ News with Further Evidence of Torture in Lanka - War Not Over Yet? Tuesday, 8 November 2011 - 10:07 AM SL Time

The UN has already found that evidence of the killing of up to 40,000 civilians amid allegations of serious human rights abuses amounted to `credible allegations` that war crimes had been committed during the last days of the civil war in 2009.

Now ahead of a United Nations meeting tomorrow, human rights groups are calling for an urgent investigation into the allegations that human rights abuses are still rife in Sri Lanka.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa`s government dismisses all that as `preposterous`. He has embarked on a charm offensive to help repair his island nation`s tarnished reputation.

Imran Khan Predicts Revolution in Pakistan - Only 2% pay Taxes in the country - Highly Corrupt President Zardari Ex Jailbird friend of the Sinhalayas:))))) Monday, 7 November 2011 - 1:06 PM SL Time

At the height of his cricket glory days, Imran Khan would visualise winning standing on the podium, cup held aloft and propelling Pakistan to victory. Last weekend, standing before a sea of supporters in Lahore, he had a similar epiphany about his political career.

`As I stood there, watching them, I knew the moment had come,` Khan, who is the leader of the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insafr party, said. `Now nothing can stop us. This is a revolution, a tsunami. We will not just win the next elections we will sweep them.`

Daya Gamage in Tears over the New Bill by the Gvt Sunday, 6 November 2011 - 2:01 PM SL Time

(November 02, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) A despot sees himself not as the First Citizen in a country of peers but as the Patriarch of an infantile-nation. He thereby arrogates unto himself the triple-roles of traditional-fatherhood, becoming, at least in his self-besotted eyes, the wise-guide, the caring-provider and the dauntless-protector of his people.

In Sri Lanka`s one-family state, these triple despotic-roles have been appropriated by the Rajapaksa-troika: Mahinda Rajapaksa the sage-guide Basil Rajapaksa the bountiful-provider and Gotabhaya Rajapaksa the vigilant-guardian.

GLP Ayya crying over TNA visit to the US - Tamil issue is internationalised beyond Sinhalayas control Wednesday, 2 November 2011 - 2:57 PM SL Time

The government yesterday insisted that Tamil National Alliance (TNA) should first discuss issues with the government instead of making representations to foreign countries. According to External Affairs Minister Prof G L Peiris, a solution can only be reached within the country and the TNA should first discuss issues with the government rather than making representations to foreign countries on internal matters.

He said that discussions with foreign countries would not help solve problems. It should directly discuss with the government, he added. The External Affairs Minister said that the report of the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) to look into the cause of the conflict, its effects on the people and reconciliation will be made public after it was handed over to the President.

Canada Does Not Buy MRs BS Monday, 31 October 2011 - 2:22 PM SL Time

PERTH, AUSTRALIA - Alone among its Commonwealth peers, Canada is calling out Sri Lanka`s government for failing to investigate war crimes allegedly committed by Sri Lanka`s army in the final months of that country`s bloody civil war.

The Commonwealth, on the other hand, rewarded Sri Lanka Sunday by re-affirming its decision to hold its 2013 heads of government summit in the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo.

Prince Saif on the Run - Prince Namal runs away from helping him? Sunday, 30 October 2011 - 4:18 PM SL Time

Niamey - Niger, the West African nation where Libya`s fugitive Saif al-Islam Gaddafi may be headed, risks a backlash from nomad Tuaregs in its north if it follows through on its obligation to hand him over to the International Criminal Court.

Libya`s aid-reliant southern neighbour has vowed to respect commitments to the ICC, but knows that could spark unrest in Saharan areas where a string of past rebellions against the capital were nurtured by Muammar Gaddafi, feted by many in the desert as a hero.

The Hague-based ICC said Gaddafi`s 39-year-old son Saif al-Islam was in contact via intermediaries about surrendering for trial, but it also had information that mercenaries were trying to spirit him to a friendly African nation.

Gadaapis Driver Found - Still No sign of Virgins? I Bet They are in Hambantota:))) Friday, 28 October 2011 - 5:10 PM SL Time

Huneish Nasr last saw the boss he served for 30 years standing in the ruins of Sirte looking confused as all hell broke loose around them.

`Everything was exploding,` said Nasr, Muammar Gaddafi`s personal driver, recalling the moments before the deposed dictator was caught last week. `The revolutionaries were coming for us. He wasn`t scared, but he didn`t seem to know what to do. It was the only time I ever saw him like that.`

Minutes later, euphoric rebels had ended Gaddafi`s last stand, over-running the ruined quarter of his birthplace that had served as his final, ignominious refuge.

This Morning Lokka told off the Advanced Countries Off - Now Podi Lokka is telling the Thugs like Mervyn Weerawanse Duminda and all other Kudu connected Rajapakses Off - Bada Redenawa Appa Ha Ha Ha Friday, 28 October 2011 - 1:09 AM SL Time

There are instances where separatist movements have filed cases against Sri Lankan leaders. They are also looking for evidence to bring them before international tribunals on war crime charges. If government politicians act like thugs and associate with the underworld it will serve the purpose of those who are hell bent on damaging the image of Sri Lanka, Minister Weerawansa said.

Minister Weerawansa added that the Mulleriyawa incident was a black mark not only to the government but to the entire country as both parties who shot at each other were members of the government.

Mahinda lashes the Developed Country Members - Bada Ridenawa Appa Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Thursday, 27 October 2011 - 5:53 PM SL Time

Sri Lanka`s President Mahinda Rajapaksa has taken a swipe at advanced economies, saying they urgently need to get their act together because the Asia Pacific region is propping up global stability.

Leaders in advanced economies had done `too little, too late` to address shaky confidence in their financial markets, so they needed to take urgent action or risk derailing global stability, Mr Rajapaksa told the Commonwealth Business Forum in Perth on Thursday.
