Who was this Major General Lassantha Mhaesh Kumara Narangoda?
Monday, 29 December 2008 - 2:10 AM SL Time
|
Thanks to poster cruzer for alerting us to this.
I assume he was a Brigadier General before being posthumously promoted to a Major General? Anyway a good catch indeed.

Sunday, 21 December 2008 - 11:51 PM SL Time
|
As I said before when the SLA was making a big deal about the LTTE female cadre they `rescued` the LTTE have often done the same...
------------------------
Following excerpts from poster `Jet` at the defencenet blog:
Nishantha Ranasinghe of 53rd Commando division was caught alive by the LTTE. He is a 22 year old young recruit from Kalnawa (or Galnawa ), Anuradhapura.
Excerpts:
I was abandoned in the field by the SLA after I was wounded. I was lying amongst the dead soldiers when the LTTE found me, treated me and eventually saved my life.

A bankruptcy of morals?
Friday, 14 November 2008 - 7:13 PM SL Time

One set of artists protested to save lives, so the converse is that this set are protesting to kill Tamils. Just remember they are united to kill us, never forget it, from the lowliest garbage man to so called `artists`, they only want us Tamils dead and off the island so they can steal our homes, achieving what 2,500 years and some brits still couldn`t do for them.
Reuters Caption:
Sri Lankan (Sinhala) artist sits during a silent vigil in Colombo, November 13, 2008. The artists staged the peaceful demonstration in response to South Indian artists who were protesting against military operations in northern Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan artists also signed a letter to the Indian government, explaining that the military operations targeted rebels, not ethnic Tamils

In pictures: Fleeing Sri Lanka war
Friday, 19 September 2008 - 10:34 AM SL Time
|
PICTURE 1
Stella, 13, Manipuram
Stella is among tens of thousands of people displaced by fighting between troops and Tamil Tiger rebels in northern Sri Lanka. Her village was bombed by the air force in January 2007.
`The ground was shaking and shrapnel flew everywhere. That`s how I lost my leg.`
Stella and her family have fled more shelling since then. `I felt sad for my family that I was slowing them down... I do not know of any safe place anymore.`

Helping the misguided - Why BOSE sucks :)
Thursday, 5 June 2008 - 11:54 AM SL Time

INTRO:
As a part of a small sect of audio enthusiests who loathe the company Bose Corp. for its marketing deception, shortcutting in manufacturing, and shameless consumer trickery, I was recently passed on a website written by a `Bose-o-phile`, who was defending the company. Upon reading his site, I vowed to represent our side: the TRUTH. However, knowing very little about the products themselves other than the fact that they sound bad for the price, I took it upon myself to audition the Bose AM-15 and perform a little `surgery` on them while I was at it. The review on this page is directed towards the Acoustimass-15, one of Bose`s most popular systems, and holds truths to the entire Acoustimass and Lifestyle series products as well. After all, the Lifestyle system is merely Acoustimass speakers packaged with a Bose integrated preamp. The AM-15 is priced at US$1299.99 MSRP. When you are done reading, check out my Bose alternatives page here.

Another LTTE offensive thwarted by the SLA - we all know what that means by now :)
Monday, 19 May 2008 - 10:56 PM SL Time
|
So as is the stated pattern now of this failed state everytime they attempt an assault and fail they claim it was an LTTE assault that was thwarted by the SLA, they still haven`t answered how, if that were the case, all these bodies are littering LTTE trenches and bunkers.
Or is it that the LTTE have captured SLA defences, either way you lose.

Joke of the Day courtesy MoD - Oh we didn`t need that ship anyway edition :):)
Saturday, 10 May 2008 - 8:21 AM SL Time
|
So the MoD has decided that the A-520 was a worthless rust bucket totally unimportant, so it doesn`t matter, that the tigers sunk her, why actually they did them a favor.
This is what they had to say about the ship:
[A-520 was a merchant vessel built in 1970`s and handed over to the Sri Lankan Navy, following a court order after it was apprehended while transporting 254 illegal migrants off Tangalle in 2003]
You see back on 18 Sep 2007, they didn`t really mean it when the following occured:
