For Kankun - A herb called asamodagam

This herb, called Asamodagam (Sinhala) or Omam (Tamil), is rather uncommon in Sri Lanka. It is more common in India where it is called Ajwain. As we can`t eat kankun everyday we can sometimes eat Asamodagam as a salad.
Here is an Indian recipe:
[AJWAIN PATTA KE PAKODE
Tender ajwain leaves are dipped in a besan batter and deep fried. They add a great `digestive` element to a plateful of sinful pakodas.

The role of minorities in building a nation - Barack Obama

`Blacks` are a minority in the USA. This is why although they have had the vote for about 80 years (I think), a black has never been elected President. If Obama is elected on 5th November, it will be a seismic event. Although he is of mixed race he seems quite happy to regard himself as a black. If a black is elected as President it will show that America is still a great nation. If and when a Tamil is elected as President of Sri Lanka, that will show that Sri Lanka is a great nation.
