Not even the most hardened cynic will deny that Obama`s Inauguration address was inspirational to a degree that exceeded anything attained by any political leader anywhere in the world, in recent times. I must confess that as I listened to him I could not help feeling a deep stirring within. It seemed as if he was addressing not merely his own country, and not even the world at large, but in particular, my own country as well. Surely, the cry must have trembled in a million Sri Lankan hearts, ``When, and from where, will our own Obama emerge?``

*** U.S, EU urge Sri Lanka`s Tigers to surrender ***

COLOMBO, Feb 3 (Reuters) -- The United States, European Union, Japan and Norway on Tuesday urged the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) to consider surrendering to avoid more deaths, including among thousands of civilians trapped in the war zone.

This first post will deal with the GBU-16 PAVEWAY II (1000lb) Laser Guided Bomb (The Bunker Buster)..

Following the assassination of the Editor of the Sunday Leader, six former US ambassadors that served in Colombo since 1989 have written a letter in their personal capacity to President Mahinda Rajapaksa..

What the letter indicates is that all US Ambassadors to SL, and as a direct consequence the State Department, have had a Succinct Understanding of the Dangers of the Chola Mindset!!..

The following words are truly revealing:

--- ``We have all, at different times and in different ways, made it clear that we believed the ``GOALS`` and tactics of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam were unacceptable, and that the Government of Sri Lanka was engaged in a difficult but necessary fight against terrorism. We have all supported and argued for United States assistance to Sri Lanka in that struggle.``

On the 30th of November 2008, 3 days before 92 countries signed a treaty banning the use of Cluster Munitions in Oslo.. the Pro-LTTE online news site, Tamilnet.com, released the following article (A). The article was accompanied with the following pictures, alleging to be the remains of the empty casing from a Cluster Bomb, and was cited as being definite evidence that the SLAF employ Cluster Bombs.

Late on Thursday the 10th of October, Jayalalithaa - Leader of the AIADMK released the following statement to the Media:

During a military, political and diplomatic career of more than 40 years, the former Sri Lankan Major General Janaka Perera was not afraid to make enemies. His death, at the age of 62, along with at least 27 others, came when a suicide bomber blew himself up at the Anuradhapura office of the country`s main opposition party, the United National party (UNP). Blame was immediately attributed to the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (or Tamil Tigers), upon whom he had visited several battlefield defeats in the 1990s. But Perera took on all opponents, right across Sri Lanka`s ethnic and ideological spectrum.

The elite Special Boat Squadron (SBS) of the Sri Lanka Navy destroyed two (02) LTTE boats and killed eight (08) LTTE cadres in the seas off the Kalmunai Point, Pooneryn on the 29th September 2008 around 2300 hrs.

Air Force more than matches new Tiger weapon

The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) this week introduced fuel-air bombs for the first time, more than matching the battlefield stakes raised by the LTTE early last week by its gas attacks on troops at Akkarayankulam and Wannivilakulam.

ROLLOVER Archimedes and you, too, Isaac Newton! Here comes S Gurumurthy, with his Mother of All Discoveries! Mercifully, he wasn`t in his bathtub when in a blinding flash he got it, his simple-as-can-be universal laws on terrorism.

First Law of Terror: ``Injustice, minus theology, cannot breed deadly terror.``

Second Law of Terror: ``Muslims are terrorists because theology (Quran) commands them to kill.``

I did prophesise 2 weeks ago that one of the ZLIN pilot should count his lucky stars!!.. For the good reason that on that occasion he came within a whisker of getting shot down!!.. 5 days later!!.. Look what happens!!.. :O)))

I was going to post something earlier about this incident.. However, being what I am, a stickler for detail!!..I resisted temptation!!.. :O)

All with good intention though.. Why??.. Cause I was waiting in the hope that my Kfir Pilot friend might get back to me and give me a more detailed account of what happened that day!!.. And did he!!.. :O))

Since the Air Tiger Raid on the 26th of August, information has been slowly trickling out of the Island regarding this incident. After a thorough, detailed, assessment of the information made available to the general public. Coupled with some additional details from my own personal sources within the Sri Lankan Military. Here is as reasonably accurate account of what happened on the 26th of August:
