Rambos & Real Wars Americans & Colombos Friday, 6 November 2009 - 7:08 AM SL Time

The Americans (when I say Americans, I want to mean the USA) waged several wars. As the self-appointed Governor of the World and the Custodian of human rights and freedom, they tried to bully several other countries into submission. Whenever the latter did not oblige, they embarked on search and destroy missions of those sovereign nations, throwing all norms of human rights out of the window. They killed and maimed millions of innocent civilians in other parts of the world during their wars, caused havoc and unprecedented suffering on children, women and men. However, with the world`s most sophisticated army with access to all the modern cutting-edge military technology, where have they actually won?

Hilary backtracks Monday, 5 October 2009 - 1:13 PM SL Time

When I posted in my page my views about Hilary Rhotham Clinton`s ramblings at the UN Security Council meeting, and suggested that Clinton was being ridiculous and confused, Thivya and some other one went bersek with their cutting and pasting...

Now we see that the State Department of the US gov. has stated that they have no evidence that during the recently concluded war rape of women had happened..

Clinton was trying to bully SL thinking that like all other bullied countries, SL would take her Siht lying down..We knew it will not be so all along. But for the LTTE sympathisers, Clinton`s not well thought out blabbering was like honey in the ears..

Bitter Hilary Friday, 2 October 2009 - 8:24 AM SL Time

Hilary Clinton first tried to throw in a life-line to the LTTE when they were facing annihilation. It came a cropper at the end. Ever since, her band at the US Department of State has been trying to vilify Sri Lanka for emerging victorious over terrorism, while her country is all messed up in Iraq and Afghanistan , not to mention Vietnam . Failing in all their sinister attempts to achieve their goal of victimizing SL, she now tries to sidekick us by mentioning SL in her ramblings at the UN Security Council meetings. Yesterday, Hilary was reported to have said that SL, among few other countries, has used rape as a weapon in the just concluded war! Where is she coming up with all this crap from? Has she seen another JDS sponsored Channel 4 broadcast? Or is she showing her country`s desperation at not being able to manhandle Sri Lanka ?

The Happy Sri Lanka Tuesday, 18 August 2009 - 8:34 AM SL Time

Learn to be pleased with everything - with wealth, so far as it makes us beneficial to others with poverty, for not having much to care for, and with obscurity, for being unenvied
Plutarch-

The Washington Post Group better stop publishing the Foreign Policy (FP) magazine. Sri Lanka, one of the miserably failed states according to its Foreign Policy magazine has emerged as Asia`s best satisfied nation in a survey conducted by a Singaporean firm, Grey Group.

Prince `Dutu Gemunu`, falling out with his father, King Kavanthissa` for not allowing him to got war with King Elara, sent him a queens praphenalia and fled the Magama Kingdom and hid in a remote village called Kadadora, according historical chronicles. There he spent many years of his youth living a life of a peasant farmer. Historical folklore say that though he was physically away from the Magama kingdom and living incognito, he was regularly updated of the troop build up and necessary war preparations by one of his great leiutenants, Velusumana, under the auspices of Queen Vihara Maha Devi, who had so much confidence in her Son and belived that he will one day free his motherland from Elara and unite the land.

How they reacted..... Monday, 1 June 2009 - 7:59 AM SL Time

On hearing that SL became victorious in decapitating the entire LTTE leadership including Prabakaran, this is the way how some of the world leaders spontaneously reacted..with utter horror, disbelief, fear and disappointedness...

I am sure they would have looked even more shocked after learning that their `UNHRC torpedoe` fired as the last resort at SL, changed course and came back to hit them and sink their coalition `screw Sri Lanka project` ship...

Rasak, sorry for copying your post without prior approval of yours..

First,

I think that the Sri Lankan Government knows that the entire world is very disappointed that in its efforts to end what it sees as 25 years of conflict, it is causing such untold suffering, US Secretary of State Hilary Rotham Clinton told Congress.

Here is what really happened Tuesday, 28 April 2009 - 12:31 PM SL Time

The Sri Lankan Forces were on a roll and winning every inch occupied by the LTTE terrorists. The LTTE was on a roll too, but they were rolling downhill, well assisted by the SL forces. India created the monster, got bitten by it and once bitten twice shy, they looked the other way when MR decided to deal with the LTTE straight on. Milimeter by millimeter, inch by inch, kilometer by kilometer, mile by mile, Velupillai Pirabaharan was getting close to being whacked.

What Ceasefire.... Monday, 27 April 2009 - 7:35 AM SL Time

Sec Def (Rtd. Col.) Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapaksha had only the following to say to the Reuters, when he was enquired by the latter as to what the GOSL response is to the LTTE`s unilateral ceasefire..

`What LTTE ceasefire? They are not fighting with us! They are running from us and hide behind the civillians. There is nothing more ridiculous as a defeated terrorist organization calling for a ceasefire! The GOSL flatly rejects any such.`

Sri Lanka Maathaa................. Friday, 24 April 2009 - 8:55 AM SL Time

Ladies & Gentlemen,

Let us face it. Sri Lankan people won the war against the LTTE and its terror regime. There is no hiding of that fact. Many a doomsday were predicted for SL when it began the humanitarian operations some 3 years back. It was said that SL will not be able to win the war and defeat the tigers. Some said, aid would be cut and GSP+ will be retracted and SL will fall short of winning over the LTTE. Pundits went a step further and said, SL military is not strong enough to defeat the tigers. Many things were said, any many were the expectations of the pro-LTTE lobby that LTTE would stage a come back sooner than later.

The art of War Thursday, 23 April 2009 - 3:55 PM SL Time

War or Peace is essentially a political decision. While the former is like a blade that cuts both ways, it could make or break the political future of the decision maker, as any subsequent failure in persecuting war will definitely spell disaster for him/her as well as his country. The latter, meanwhile, is always the safer route though it might jeopardize a country`s pride and sovereignty in the end. A politician needs to have a cocktail of things in place for him to make that decision of whether to go to war or make peace in this 20th century. The cocktail would include a number of things that must be amalgamated, like, public endorsement to go to war, most opportune time, willing and patriotic citizenry queuing in to join the armed forces to defeat the enemy even at the height of the war, brilliantly trained and resourced tri forces and intelligence units, unstinted and strategic support of the civilian administration in charge of war, intelligent human resources to keep the international diplomatic boat from rocking and a strong political commitment to hold the sail no matter what type of political winds are brewing. Under normal circumstances, people soon get weary of war and tend to topple the incumbent governments more often than not, thus, there is always that doubt and fear at the back of the politician who contemplates to go to war. While the weak-minded politician would chose peace and betray the nation under various intimidation and threats, a more strong-minded leader having patriotism at heart will chose the hard way and, in the process, would win the war and win the hearts and minds of his constituency, both at the same time. It does not mean that people enjoy war over peace but it is just that at extraordinary times, people lose hope and trust in fake peace deals and crave for a stronger leadership who could take the real threat to the country by its horns and defeat it. In such times, it is not just the politician but also his followers who make the decision to sacrifice their freedom and many luxuries of life in order to support the course of action towards waging war, which they realize as much bigger nuisance. Examples are rare but nobody can argue that Mahinda Rajapaksha is the best example of a strong political leadership in the modern and contemporary world politics who came triumphant though he chose the less popular way of waging war on the most ruthless terrorist organization of the world. In to the fourth year of his swearing in as president, his popularity among the voters have sky-rocketed much to the bewilderment and disappointment of his rivalries, as well as the western super powers who wanted to see a weak nation and a weak leader leading Sri Lanka. Sun Tzu may have written the art of war, the oldest Military Treatise in the World, but there is no doubt that General Sarath Fonseka and his deputies will be able to write one of their own for the modern day warfare. The world may have seen belligerent defence secretaries of the world`s most powerful Nation, the USA, come and go without seeing any success in their military operations worldwide in the years gone by, but Gotabhaya Rajapaksha, among his contemporaries will be able to teach all of them how and how not to carry out a successful military campaign to a decisive finish. Our island nation Sri Lanka may be small and is far below the level of many of the developed countries of the world in many aspects, but its people will be able to showcase to the world how best a resolved nation can be patriotic and brave in the face of concerted effort of the most ruthless terrorists and their coalitions and emerge victorious. That, in a nutshell, is the pride of our Nation.

LTTE continues to play itself into oblivion.. Tuesday, 14 April 2009 - 8:55 AM SL Time

The GOSL timing of the two day stop of offensives in my opinion was a carefully calculated, well planned and a strategic one. To begin with, with the impending 100% routing of the once formidable terrorist gang LTTE, a lot of countries around the world were aggregating to find fault with the GOSL in a tacit bid to save Prabakaran. Although it was stark clear to the IC that LTTE will never release the civillians and will continue to kill the escapees instead, the GOSL had to time their move immaculately to trap the LTTE once and for all and convince the world that ceasefires to save civilians from the LTTE is utterly worthless endeavour, because the latter has no thought of letting that happen. As soon as the GOSL announce the two-day CF, praise came from many IC quarters, the UN, Dalai Lama and the world heads. Even Norway too could not stay away from praising the GOSL for the humanitarian guesture. Ban Ki Moon stressed that the CF was very encouraging and that LTTE should seize it to release the civilians. I am sure, even if did say that, he knew that is not what LTTE gonna do anyway.
