South Korean skater Yu-Na Kim, the richest athlete at the Winter Olympics, boosted her earnings by another $1million (about 660,000) when she shattered the world record score for the women`s figure skating title.
Kim was challenged to break the world-record score of 207 she set in last year`s world championships by her Korean bank sponsors.
They insured against the possibility with a Lloyds syndicate in London and will be glad they did.
Kim, 19, a Toronto- skater coached by Canadian Brian Orser, exceeded both her world record for the free programme by 13 per cent with a score of 150.06 and her overall world record by almost 11 per cent with a combined 228.56.

X Factor winner Joe McElderry now favourite to be Christmas number one
Joe McElderry, the cherubic 18-year-old hailed as a new Cliff Richard, is now the bookies` firm favourite to reach the number one slot in the charts for Christmas with his single The Climb.

In what was billed as the closest final in the history of the television talent show, McElderry beat call centre worker Olly Murs to the biggest prize in the music business with an astonishing 61 per cent of the vote.

The music industry finally got its version of Hulu on Tuesday night. Or, to be more accurate, sometime this morning, as the much-hyped launch of Vevo was intermittent and slow going until early this afternoon. But post-launch quirks are to be expected, and Vevo, whether it ultimately proves to be the game-changer that industry heroes have hyped it as, is long overdue.

YouTube has been the go-to source for music videos for a few years now, and the Google-owned site is loaded with official singles, rarities, fan mash-ups, cellphone live clips and any other music-related video one can dream up. If it isn`t broke, why fix it? But YouTube, while being a virtual free bazaar of music-related material, is also loaded with dead ends, fake clips, misdirects and plenty of poorly shot videos.
