Balita by Asin Thursday, 10 January 2008 - 12:39 PM SL Time

Philippines is a catholic country, where muslim minority in south is waging a separatist/autonomy campign. Money, blood and resources are being wasted by both sides in a meaningless power struggle, where the solution could have been to do away communalism from the political objectives.

Asin is a philippine rock band very popular in late sevenites and eighties.

Their lyrics and songs are in solidarity with the penoy people during an era of political oppression, human right violations and environmetal degradation with Ferdinand Marcos`s martial law.

What music can do to make our differences less relevant: Its my life Friday, 13 April 2007 - 12:26 PM SL Time

This ain`t a song for the broken-hearted
No silent prayer for the faith-departed
I ain`t gonna be just a face in the crowd
You`re gonna hear my voice
When I shout it out loud

It`s my life
It`s now or never
I ain`t gonna live forever
I just want to live while I`m alive
(It`s my life)
My heart is like an open highway
Like Frankie said
I did it my way
I just wanna live while I`m alive
It`s my life

This is for the ones who stood their ground

This is great song! Even extremists can try!

Adnan Sami is a Pakistani native, who was raised in UK. He is extremely popular across South Asia.

The story goes that when Adnan was 10, his talent was spotted by Asha Bhosle at an R D Burman concert in London.
