Rascism and its consequences in LNP Wednesday, 15 August 2007 - 6:38 PM SL Time

I have been writing a few articles pertaining to the mythical `Tamil Homeland` concept and so many views have been thrown at and none better than the following by a handle named `CholaPandyan`. Please read and decide!

`If you go back in history, Sri Lanka was divided into 3 countries with 3 kingdoms, and one of them was Tamil where the Tamils are the majority even today. This Tamil part (country) belongs to us, and we will never let a Sinhala to walk freely in our land without a valid visa`.

Its the 62nd anniversary today since the end of the WW2 Tuesday, 14 August 2007 - 11:06 PM SL Time

Many historians still think that the Second World War was Hitler`s personal war, and that he always intended to fight a war - as a re-run of a First World War he did not believe that German had lost fairly.

This drawing by the British Cartoonist (picture) David Low (20 March 1935) is titled `Cause comes before effect`. The cartoon shows Hitler`s armies marching past him - but at the front are politicians such as Chamberlain, Clemenceau, Laval and Mussolini, and they are saluting Hitler too. They have rolled up the Versailles Treaty and carry a flag saying `10 years of lost opportunity`. The message of the cartoon is that Hitler may be bringing war, but it is the politicians of France, Britain and Italy who are to blame - for letting him.

Tamil Ethnonationalism and Terrorism - Myths and Realities - The Problem in Sri Lanka - dedicated to Tigy and the fellow eelamists Monday, 13 August 2007 - 10:21 PM SL Time

Myth: There is an ethnic problem in Sri Lanka

Reality:
The problem is the brutal Terrorism directed by the LTTE, popularly known as Tamil Tigers against the people especially the Sinhalese and the Sri Lankan state. An ethnic problem is fundamentally a social problem.

An ethnic problem exists when a majority ethnic group discriminates the minorities in the social and cultural sphere on the assumption that the majority is superior and the minorities are inferior in social and cultural terms. In Sri Lanka, the Sinhalese do not perceive them to be superior to the Tamils and Muslims but that they are culturally different. In the everyday life and in social cultural and economic interactions, there is no evidence of Sinhalese discriminating Tamils and Muslims.

Rally to protect the elected Government in Sri Lanka Monday, 13 August 2007 - 6:21 PM SL Time

Bribes come in all sorts of guises. Money is only one of them. Instead of beating about the bush, the LTTE have got straight to the point. Through their political benefactor, Ranil Wickramasinghe. the Tigers have approached some members of the UNP whom they thought can be lured by blood soaked Tiger funds . This is where they made the mistake. (We find that there are still a few patriotic people left in the UNP too) That is why Minister Karu Jayasuriya told parliament what had transpired and how bribes of Rs.110 million each. were offered to two UNP(Democratic group) ministers to join the ranks of the opposition. He categorically stated that his group would never betray the nation and was intent in supporting the government which had taken meaningful steps to eradicate terrorism from Sri Lanka.

The Mythical Tamil Homeland - Who Wants a Separate State? Sunday, 12 August 2007 - 11:28 PM SL Time

Tamil Separatists are attempting to re-write the history of Sri Lanka by claiming the existence of a Tamil Homeland in ancient Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka has a recorded history of over 2,500 years, but no where in this history is there a mention of a Tamil Homeland. Many archaeological finds have been made in Sri Lanka, dating back to over 3,000 years, but not a single find points to the existence of a Tamil Homeland. Yet the Tamil separatists who are waging a bloody terrorist campaign in Sri Lanka are attempting justify their terrorists acts by claiming to fight for this mythical homeland. So what is Tamil Eelam and where is this `Tamil Homeland?`

The mythical Tamil Eelam is asking for more than NE parts of NWP, UP and SP are parts of TE too Sunday, 12 August 2007 - 9:00 PM SL Time

Sri Lanka has 9 provinces and 25 districts. As the top picture shows all 9 provinces are drawn and in comparison to the other one which the Tamil separatists vying for a separate state does not ONLY include North and East as the so-called `Tamil Eelam` but parts of the North Western Province, Uva Province and Southern Province.

This shows that the Tamil Separatists not only invading the country Sri Lanka`s NE with majority of Tamils but a significant area of majority Sinhalese too. What if the Muslims claim parts of Western Province and the upcountry Tamils claim they too want a part of Central Province? Where do the rest live?
