Kinetic Energy Wednesday, 16 December 2009 - 5:36 AM SL Time

Kinetic energy is the energy of motion. An object which has motion - whether it be vertical or horizontal motion - has kinetic energy. There are many forms of kinetic energy - vibrational (the energy due to vibrational motion), rotational (the energy due to rotational motion), and translational (the energy due to motion from one location to another). To keep matters simple, we will focus upon translational kinetic energy. The amount of translational kinetic energy (from here on, the phrase kinetic energy will refer to translational kinetic energy) which an object has depends upon two variables: the mass (m) of the object and the speed (v) of the object.

Homemade Ice Cream - Vanilla Ice Cream Ice Cream Wednesday, 16 December 2009 - 5:31 AM SL Time

Ingredients:
4 egg yolks
1/2 pint (250ml) milk
1/2 pint (250ml) double/heavy cream
4 oz (100g) sugar or caster sugar
1 vanilla pod (sliced down the middle)

Pour the milk into a saucepan and bring the pan slowly up to boiling point. Place the vanilla pod into it and leave to infuse for about 20 minutes.

In a bowl, beat and mix together the egg yolks and sugar until thick. Carefully remove the vanilla pod from the pan of milk and scrape out the seeds into the milk. Pour the milk into the mixture of egg yolks and sugar whilst stirring. Pour the mixture back into the pan and heat gently, stirring until the custard thickens - DO NOT BRING TO THE BOIL OR IT WILL PROBABLY CURDLE. When you can see a film form over the back of your spoon it`s time to remove the saucepan from the heat. Leave to cool. When the custard base is cold stir in the cream. Transfer the whole mixture into an ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer`s instructions.

Homemade Ice Cream Wednesday, 16 December 2009 - 4:52 AM SL Time

bout the Process
The other ingredients of ice cream--added through the freezing process, not the recipe--are ice crystals and air. Although ice cream can be made without an ice cream machine or old-fashioned hand-cranked churn, it will not have the desired smooth, creamy texture. Just freezing cream and sugar results in relatively large ice crystals that are detectable to the tongue. By agitating the mixture and adding air to increase its volume, ice cream machines make the texture of the finished product light and smooth.

BREAKING NEWS : GOSL completely razed a small village in Mannar Tuesday, 15 December 2009 - 11:25 PM SL Time

From very reliable sources I have received the sad news :-((

A village next to Illupakadavai , namely Kathadivayal, has been completely RAZED by the fascist GOSL. No house left, except one, which is OF COURSE occupied by the invaders/looters.

The village was mainly inhabited by elder people.
The cowards even razed a beautiful garden of Thenamaram.
I have visited the village in 2003 - it was a very peaceful village.

These are the ground realities..

Phase 1 of the ethnic cleansing has started...............
