LTTE chief V. Prabhakaran`s wife Mathivathani, daughter and younger son Balachandran were found shot dead on Wednesday.

Their bodies, having gunshot wounds in the head, were found a day after pictures of Prabhakaran`s body were released by the Sri Lankan authorities.

The bodies were found in the Nandi Kadal lagoon area barely 600 metres from where Prabhakaran`s body was recovered by the Sri Lankan Army.

According to the latest report received from Sri Lanka LTTE terrorists have committed a mass suicide after being effectively cut-off of escape routes, both land and sea and encircled in a mere 1.km of land West of Vellamullivaikkal, Apparently, the government has not been able to confirm this so far as positive identification is required by the authority and also awaiting for the President to return from Jordan and address the nation. Government sources said a final announcement of the rebel`s defeat was due to be made by President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who is due back in Sri Lanka Sunday morning. Meanwhile the kith and kin of LTTE top leaders including that of VP have moved already to the Army held area apparently with forged identities. The army is now in the process of screening them and identifying them. Soosai earlier reported to have literally handed-over his family to the Navy (but media reported as captured by the Navy). Some of the self-appointed LTTE Colonels, middle range leaders and regional level leaders have already been surrendered to SLA. Five self proclaimed `Government Doctors` who had been with Prabhakaran, have also turned themselves up in to the forces, they are, in fact, LTTE cadres turned medically trained doctors. One has been the man who gave fabricated stories to Al Jazeera and BBC. They have not wanted their photos shown to the media. Meanwhile Sri Lankans are preparing for a grand scale island-wide celebration tomorrow to commemorate the defeat of Tamil terrorism in the Island and reports coming from Colombo say national flags and fire crackers are already sold out throughout the Island. Cadres who lay down arms and surrender will be rehabilitated

The Government has decided on an amnesty for all LTTE members who lay down their arms and surrender and those currently held in detention without trial, Human Rights Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe told The Sunday Times last night.

He said the regulations for this purpose were being drafted in consultation with the Attorney General and they would cover anyone in the LTTE who agreed to lay down weapons and surrender to the security forces.

There is a fine line between accommodating spontaneous political action on behalf of a legitimately concerned ethnic group seeking to express solidarity with brethren overseas -- and letting one`s city be taken over by a mob.

This is not a Avrudu Kumari. She is not a South Indian or Hindi actress. She is the Daughter of LTTE Leader Velupilli Prabakaran. Her name is Duwaraha Prabakaran. We are showing this photograph for this news items, because most of the Tamil people themselves have not seen her, and the real life that Prabakaran and his children live, is a secret even to the Tamil people. Though a capsule of cyanide is hung across the neck of the youth in the North, along with a T-56, Duwaraha is holding a rose in her arms. She is living a very comfortable life in England right now. Duhara Prbahakaran was born in 1986 in Madras, she studied upto A/L in Kilinochchi. Prabakaran and his wife Maduwadani, eldest son Charles Anthony, he is in the center of this picture. Charles Anthony also got princely treatment growing up and lived in Vanni. He has spent most of his life in England and other European countries. Prabakaran had a secret life that he did not tell the world, this was disclosed in the recent findings of his family albums and personal letters.

For more than 30 years, Velupillai Prabhakaran has been Sri Lanka`s most wanted man. The authorities now believe they have cornered the elusive commander of one of the world`s deadliest and most resilient insurgencies. Sri Lankan military officials said on Sunday that more than 500 cadres of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) had been killed in fighting over the weekend and that the Tamil separatist fighters are now confined to a narrow coastal stretch a little more than seven miles long in northern Sri Lanka a far cry from the vast swaths of eastern and northern Sri Lanka controlled by the insurgents just two years ago. And eight military divisions with as many as 50,000 personnel backed by air support are going in for the kill, with escape and supply routes by sea blocked off by a naval blockade.

Protesting Sri Lankan Tamils are being blamed for beheading the statue of Jawaharlal Nehru outside India House in London this morning.
Indian diplomats were informed of the statue`s desecration when they arrived at the premises of the High Commission in Aldwych this morning. The remains of the statue have been bound in a white sheet and are visible for all to see.

When contacted, India`s High Commissioner to UK Shiv Shankar Mukherjee said: The statue has been damaged and the police are investigating. The police were there at night and they are on the job.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, India, March 30 (Reuters) - Heavily armed commandos locked down a stretch of the southern Indian coast on Monday and began a house-to-house search for a group of suspected Tamil Tiger rebels from Sri Lanka, police said.

Jacob Punnoose, police chief of Kerala state, told Reuters the police had information that Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) rebels were trying to flee impending defeat at the hands of Sri Lankan troops in their bloody 25-year civil war.

A massive credit card sting involving up to 200 British petrol stations was said yesterday to have been organised by Tamil Tiger terrorists.

Millions of pounds have been taken from credit and debit cards after their owners used them to pay for goods at petrol stations where skimming machinery had been fitted.

The guerrilla group was accused of defrauding British drivers to fund its campaign of violence against the Government of Sri Lanka.
