As the two elephant calves `Raju` and Sindhu` that were forcefully removed by Diyawadana Nilame Nilanga Dela Bandara a few days ago are to be handed over to Malwaththe and Asgiriya temples ceremoniously by the President on the 7th of next month the two calves had been punished with poles to tame them say reports. They have also been burnt with heated iron bars state these reports.
