SK63 is absolutely right, it is an unpleasurable experience to go through Sri Lankan immigration (and Customs) at the Airport. I have used their `services` numerous times and more than half of these encounters can be classified as Unpleasant. It is unlike most of the other airports I have visited. It was disheartening to see some of the officers` appalling conduct towards poor wemen coming from the middle east. (And to be fair, I should say that there are worse immigration personals in some countries.)
I always thought, at Colombo airport I was treated shabbily because of me being a Tamil. It is a kind of relief to know that is not the case.
However, something I don`t understand in this thread is, many people trying to blame new recruits for a condition that prevailed for decades. SK63, Dumindak, lakshan, Sumudu etc have came forward with their anti JVP bias and it looked pathetic. I guess all of you are UNP supporters. There is no other explanation for your views.
