LTTE terrorists launched an artillery and mortar attack at the Muhamalai and Nagarkovil battlefronts in the Jaffna theatre of operations last morning (Aug 18).
According to the defence sources, soldiers of Muhamalai withstood heavy artillery fire launched around 5.30 AM. Troops responded with artillery and rocket fire and brought the situation under control. Three soldiers were killed in the attack, said the sources -defence.lk JAFFNA: One Army soldier was wounded in an LTTE mortar attack in MUHAMALEI area around 06.50am yesterday (18). -mcns defence.lk-3 soldiers killed MCNS- one soldier wounded. |
