[Ltte allowing sldf to their territory like what Rassians allowed german army. soon sldf will face a large debacle in the history of eelam war. the rapid speed in which sldf enter into ltte territory means they are not consolidating captured positions strongly and which will lead to loss of captured territory to ltte by even a small offensive by ltte.

as per sarath he is not interested in capturing territory so if ltte strikes back strongly he will withdraw and justify that holding/ capturing territory is not his strategy and killing ltte only is his strategy and he wii say he has achieved that.]

First of all the Russians never allowed the Germans to come into their territory. The Russians fought with bravery in the face of the German army. Most of the fall back of the Russians was Stalin s rather questionable decisions in the brink of invasion. Also the German weaponry and tactics (blitzkrieg) over whelmed the Russians. The Russians surrounded the German 6th army after years of street fighting. The advantage turned into Russian side when the winter hit in and the rapid development or the famous Russian T-34. The main point we should get here is the location of these tank factories. Which was scattered across the country side. And Hitler was foolish enough to concentrate an entire army on Stalingrad. Eventually Russian tanks rolled in and surrounded the 6th army therefore making Von Paulus surrender.
So coming to your point what is the comparability of the LTTE and the Russian army tactics? Does Sri Lanka have sub zero winters like Russia? Does the LTTE produce weapons in mass factories in the surrounding areas? As you stated IF the SLDF is thinning out why wait so long to attack? Isn t it high time LTTE attacked now? I mean they have come a long way so why not take this for an advantage and break the SLDF line and surround them and make them sign an unconditional surrender?
