[The LTTE terrorists have destroyed infrastructure in Vedittalthivu including vehicles, while fleeing the area. A huge water tank which provided water to thousands was exploded. This was built with World Bank aid amounting to millions of rupees. The Government had allocated a large sum of money to the development of the area although it was a terrorist dominated area. The water tank was destroyed half an hour before the soldiers entered the area. The terrorists had used the Veditthaltivu Hospital for their purposes. They had looted valuable drugs while the rest had been destroyed. The expensive vehicles have also been taken while the remaining were booby trapped. The terrorists have unleashed damage amounting to billions of rupees.
