There are more than 5 Hindu temples in srilanka. Some are ancient some are not.
5 BELIVED TO BE OLD Please [Read Hindu Temples of Srilanka By S Pathmanathan.Published by Kumaran Book house.] There are two main arguments on these temples. 1 They were built well before the Sinhala colonisation started in this Island. According to Sir Paul Peiris and many other historians there were 5 Main Hindu temples were in Srilanka before the arrival of Vijeya .But this is not sufficient evidence to claim an existence of Tamil civilisations in Srilanka. Hinduism is a great religion which travelled all over the world with Indian Merchants who travelled the world for trading purposes. During the ancient time most of the Arabic Indian Chinese and western merchants Selected Srilanka as their main hub of the business. Due to the location of Srilanaka it became the main Selling point for merchants who travelled from West and the east. easterners sold their products and bought Western products and vice versa . During ancient time the merchants who travelled through the famous SILK ROAD COMPLETED THEIR JOURNEY IN SRILANKA. SO IT IS CLEAR AND OBVOIOUS THAT MANY DIFFRENT COMMUNITIES AND RELIGIONS WERE PRESENT IN SRI LANKA DUE TO THE ABOVE REASON. With the great tolerance of the then Hela People, the merchants were allowed to build and maintain their own places for worship in Srilanka. Therefore this could be the main reason of how the existence of these Hindu temples in Srilanka. According to Srilankan history and archaeology there are evidence found to prove that there were Roman Monuments and churches were in Srilanka. Not only that Many Islamic devotees believe that the ancient Beruwala and Kathtnankudi [where LTTE knifed 144 Muslims when they were praying.] Believe that these Islamic mosques also were built during the ancient times. But it is very clear that Thivya has forgotten about the main point of her argument. Hinduism is not a religion practicing only by Tamil people. Most of the other communities, races, nationalities also practice Hinduism as their main religion. Today in India it has become the main religion. It is the state religion of Nepal Not only non Aryan Tamils even the Aryan north Indians believe Hinduism their religion. Also you can find Hindus Even in many parts of Thailand ,Vietnam China Malaysia Indonesia Maurisous. But Absolutely they are not Tamils but Hindus Therefore Tamil Thivya cannot take the sole ownership of the Hinduism If you consider the total hindu population of the world today Percentage of Tamil Hindus Become less than 7%. Therefore if any Tamil come to an argument like Thivya does here It becomes null and void as I) Most of the Sinhalese Buddhist are Hindus up to a certain level. as most of them worship Hindu gods. II) Not all the Hindus are Tamils. Like wise there are similar events in the world history Look at the Bahamian Buddha statues. It is in middle of Afganistan.But we never use your illogical theory to claim a sinhala colonisation in Afganistan . We have simple reason to not to do that because it is not logical. Not we look at your map You found one Hindu temple in Dewndra. Yes there is a Devalya In Dewndra But it is a town situated in a deep Sinhala area. Have you ever heard that there was a Tamil presence in Dewndra area or do you have any proofs to prove your claim? Answer is a big no. Apply the same theory to Chilaw, katharagama and Trinco If you try to claim that it will be similar to a Sinhala man who claims an existence of -Sinhala race in Afghanistan as there are Few Buddha statues found over there. So it is clear that the above Hindu temples are situated not only in Tamil area but in majority sinhala areas as well. 2) Most of the Hindu temples were built in resent days. Some historian s belief that most of the Hindu temples were built in resent days. There was a stone inscription found in the Thirukethiswaram Hindu temple premises in Mannar. Which was written in Sinhala and dated back to 3RD BC. It Cleary state of an ancient Buddhist temple with thousands of Buddhist monks at the very location of the Thrirukethiswaram temple. FINALLY YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT 5 HINDU TEPLMES IN SRILANKA TO CLAIM YOUR FAKE PEELAM But we have more than 6000 places with Archaeological value only IN NORTH AND EAST OF SRILANKA. WE ARE FIGHTING FOR OUR HERITAGE. |
