Again, you are back to square one. The pretext of any skilled migration is to know at least one of the official languages. Neither Tamils nor Sinhalese migrated to Sri Lanka through point system. They used boat system. :) [When tamils say we can not speak the majority language then the RACISM is obvious. ] I, for one, had lived in colombo and was learning Sinhalese at a very young age, knowing full well that I needed it. If not for you guys chased me away in 1983, I might be conversing with you in Sinhala in another forum. :O)) [Actually, if tamils lived for a longer period of time, by now every tamil should talk sinhala.] This is warped thinking. You learn a second language either out of necessity or interest. Not because you live next door. |
