[SLA forces civilians to cleanup checkposts, military bases]
We need to verify this news item from independent sources. If correct, it should be condemned by everyone. Over the years SLA has developed into a professional unit. In recent times despite the intensity of the war, we didn`t hear many complaints against SLA. Unlike other ethnic conflicts(eg Greeks & Turks) between Sinhalese & Tamils there is no hatred. May be it is due to the fact that both Sinhalese & Tamils have similar roots. All efforts must be put in place to protect Tamil civilians. This war is only against the LTTE. |
