I do agree with Stalin in being polite. You lose nothing but gain a lot. You also can hit back harder politely than you could if you lose your cool.
There are some who go to bad language or drag family at the drop of the hat. That only says the person is a bum and people will not want to discuss. There is a real bum who is sleeping today and the language has not been that bad.
