[I think JVP waited until the govt got majority vote. They were on the fence wanting to uphold their promise while not wanting to bring the govt down. This is called politics. JVP can now say that they voted against a budget that brings more hardship to common folks while not being blamed for bringing the govt down]
That is exactly what my opinion too. In the coming days pressure on the government will be more. Specially if it does not take action to reduce COL by reducing number of ministries and cutting down other unwanted government expenditure. With this decision JVP has sent a clear message to the president to stop entertaining politicians (UNP).
