I think some of you would be well advised to examine your assumptions about the `church`. the church is not some monolithic entity as some of you make it out to be. the anglicans in sri lanka are not the same as the anglicans in australia. likewise the anglicans in sl are not the same as the evangelicals or AOGs or catholics. perhaps the anglicans and catholics are more similar in belief and outlook but even they differ on a number of key issues. and again, what the bishops and archbishops declare from the pulpit is not what the layperson thinks or believes. to just call everything `THE CHURCH` and to blame this `CHURCH` of plotting conspiracies against the Buddhists is stupid and likely to create uneccessary problems for all concerned. All Chikera said was that he supports the actions of the monks in their peaceful protest against the military regime.
