Thanks for bringing this article to the attention of the world. We are very eager to help these children. We have just competed a Children?s House with all facilities to house Tsunami Orphans or any poor children at a village about 30 KM from Katunayake. This facility is in a 4-acre lot. It is built to house 20 boys and 20 girls with donations from USA citizens. An AMI Montessori School is attached to provide education. The staff is hired and ready, but we have a big problem in getting kids we managed to get only five kids so far.
We had tough time getting the facility up, and do not want any organization with ulterior motives to creep in. We will be opening it ceremonially but without politicians on November 25, 2007. Our facility will provide Montessori education to the highest level give the kids proper skills to find suitable jobs in the market. They will get both Sinhala & English education by well-trained teachers there will be visiting volunteers from the USA too, to teach kids.
