DEW Gunasekara used to be a man of idealism and principle, but, descended either because he wanted to be a catalist to find a solution even if that means majority keeps its superiority or just to taste the power before too late.
When compared to many Sinhala Buddhists who prefer to destroy the country than treat the minorities with respect he is respectable and a man who is gifted with capacity beyond the petty nationalism. He should be admired for saying openly that 1. The Tamil Official Language act has not been implemented during the last 18 years and 2. Taking positive steps to implement the act by making those govt servants who are minorities learn Tamil. |
