Sri lankan army refused 10 body bags handed by LTTE to SLRCS.
How patriotic is this army ! [Two missing soldiers found dead - Vavuniya Representatives of army fighting units in Wanni front inspected 13 bodies sent by the LTTE and identified two of their fallen comrades this afternoon. The two soldiers were reported missing since fierce fighting erupted between the LTTE terrorists and the security forces since Saturday night (2nd). The ICRC representatives brought the 13 severely mutilated bodies form Wanni LTTE dominated areas to Vavuniya this afternoon. According to the ICRC officials the LTTE had claimed that all bodies were belonged to army soldiers. Representatives from each fighting unit presently involved in the battle were called upon to inspect the bodies. The 11 bodies that could not be identified were later returned to the ICRC. Earlier, the Media Centre for National Security (MCNS) said that 13 army soldiers were killed and 20 others were injured during last three days of continued fighting. The security forces successfully thwarted the terror offensive and are presently engaged in clearing operations in the area.] From Defence.lk !! |
