The unmanned aerial vehicles are capable of sorties at night. ..The Southern Air Command of the air force, in addition to the deployment of mobile radar stations, has also asked for aerostat balloons - tethered radar systems - that will be deployed along the peninsula.] Look at the resources being put out!!.. (1) Searcher and Heron UAV`s (2) Khukri class missile corvettes (3) mobile radar units near Rameswaram The Indian EL/M-2083 Aerostat Radars have a range of 500km. Once these radars are deployed near the Rameswaram peninsula - with a 500km range, the radars will give blanket coverage of Vanni, Jaffna, and Manner. So technically the Indians can see absolutely anything taking off or landing in that region - the implications!!.. go figure :O) |
