Best thing is to find the exact interpretation from some historians about this and then discuss based on their findings. There are many possibilities of the similarities in the scripts and Sinhala and Tamil Languages.
On the other hand, do you know whether both of the parts of the scripts were written at the same time or some different time? We all accept the fact that there were Tamils in Sri Lanka from the early days, but the main thing you need to remember is this. Tamilnadu is a huge area and Tamils live there. There is no Sinhala heritage in any part of the world other than Sri Lanka. So if Tamils were natives in Sri Lanka then why did they move to a huge area in Southern India rather than the rest of the Sri Lanka? So, it is trivial that Tamils came to Sri Lanka from India and they lived in the northern part of the country for some time. Does this mean Tamils own a separate country? Take some examples. Europeans brought Africans as slaves to USA and UK. They were torture discriminated. However, that was the history and now they have equal rights. Are they also fighting for a new country or at least a new state in US or UK? In UK, there are three different areas of control; Scotland, Welles and Britain, so it is just a matter of devolution of power and not three countries. Finally my conclusion: Anything before 20 -30 years means history. History can be great, ugly and pathetic at some time periods and we can never change it. However, present and the future is entirely up to us who live right now and we can change it to. Tamils have no discrimination in Sri Lanka and their only misery is the war taken forward by their own few lunatics and brainwashed supporters who lived good lives in foreign countries. |
