Champika was never a JVP member, he agitated for student rights and was vehemently against foreign interference in sri lanka.
All he wanted to do was to make sure we developed as a nation His vision is that if the tamils in the north benefited from same facilities enjoyed by colombo then they would not have a reason to separate.
