Well that rubbish needs more polishing today even to present as fake silver.] [After this massive suicide for 30 years Tamils have achieved only death, destruction, starvation , displacement , indignity and humiliation and they are celebrating the destruction of Tamil society on a pseudo hero`s day.] Magha, what is it called when you call a people who have been subjected to mass racist terror and who try to fight back `hypocrites`? What is it called when you tell a people who have suffered at the hands of the state so much that they have achieved nothing by fighting for their human rights and human dignity? What is it called when you whitewash the massacre of Tamil civilians by the security forces by saying that the Tigers were using them as human shields? Racism is an appropriate word for it. What do you think? If you disagree with the methods of struggle, then say so. But you find yourself squarely on the side of the same State that continues to bomb, kill and harass Tamil civilians all over the country. Your constant refrain is that it is the LTTE that has brought war upon the Tamils but you know that this is patently false. The disenfranchisement and violence towards the Tamil population began well before the LTTE came into the picture. The Tamil politicains and people were protesting using peaceful methods, Ghandian methods, and all it brought them was greater violence and contempt from the State. Do you suggest that they simply should have accepted that status quo? Where is your critique of GOSL state terrorism? WHere is your analysis of `Sinhala BUddhist` chauvanism? I do not place an equal sign between State Terrorism and the Rebellion that arose against it. The GOSL has the fundamental responsiblity to guarantee the safety and security and equal rights for all its citizens. The GOSL ever since independence went about with a conscious mission of marginalizing the Tamil people through brutality and discriminatory legislation. If the movement that this brutality produced has also become ruthless and brutal that is the reposnibility of the GOSL. The day the GOSL offers a comprehensive political solution to the Tamil people and the LTTE refuses it then we can start talking about equal responsibility. But to date the GOSL has done nothing except continue the regin of terror that SWRD started. And you Magha find your self in the camp of SWRD`s heirs. Hey Magha, by the way, did you create Ruwani in the lab. Little female frankenstein experiment gone wrong? |
