Magha,

[Talking about art ,cinema and Tamil culture I was once amazed to learn from Gaja Lakshmi, one of the Tamil members of this forum that she did not know who Picasso was when he was working at Air Lanka head office in Sri Lanka.]

Yes, I have encountered that enigmatic woman a few times and I had to convince hard her to convey my message that yet she comes up with some absurd theories to justify the terrorism in the name of freedom fighting. I could not laugh at that woman whereas most of the tamil members consider her as a leading intellectual who has the knack and tenacity to write long useless scripts like the member Sritharan who does here. Its a pity this type of people are taken as top notch academics and as the so-called liberators and freedom fighters, but they never realise they are in cloud cuckoo land.

I would not be surprised of this woman not knowing Picasso even Sigiri Frescoes, sandakada pahana etc. Magha, the so-called self proclaimed intellectuals are a plenty in this forum. I can see they write anything to everything to boost their number of posts against their handle which is pitiful. I have seen members with more than 4000 or 3000 posts with Senior citizenships but write claptrap and piffle at most. This is the tragedy.

Did you hear that K A W Perera died recently? The guy was some 75+ years old. I would not say he`s a top notch director but certainly better than Robin Thampoe.

`Gamperaliya` and `Rekhawa` has been two of my best films too. I still believe the cultural value that film Rekhawa provides is amazing and a fitting tribute the country. I also go with his historical (educational perhaps) films like `sandesaya` and `Puran Appu`. In fact we must be proud of these guys. Had they not been making such good films we would have been still dancing around trees to south indian trash music.

Personally I am not a geat fan of Handagama as his crude political view is not my forte in his films. But Prasanna Vithanage is a real start with a colossal talent.

Did you see `Purahanda Kaluwara` by him? A very good one, watch it if not, you won`t disappoint for sure.
