Dr.Dhanapala is an able candidate with right credentials except the country that he was born. He was pushed to the last place to tell the elitist leaders who nominated him that good credentials are just not good enough but the country that he comes from also must have ethics and principles and not persecute its minorities.
He must be credited for his decent behaviour in his resignation of Secretiship from the Peace Secretariat when he learnt that the former President and the Military intelligence consealed the fact from him that they who created the DPU to kill LTTE and civilians alike. 60 civilians were killed in Batticaloa in addition to many high ranking LTTE cadres. Such terrorist behaviour is unique among the nations.
