I think the govt. and Mahanayakes should thankfuly reject this offer. this is ridiculous and in one way a demeaning act toward the Buddism which is prospering in North America very fast.
the buddist philosophy is based on Karuna, Mettha, Muditha and Upeksha which is more than enough for a peaceful world.
this is totaly different from Islamic extremity but not the true religion of Islam.
The Sanga has taken over the role of protectors of nation; the sinhalese, as the Govt. was unable to convince the people the duty they are enrolled with.the Americans should go and teach radical Islamist and Christians the techniques (should be new found)of making peace and love with the neibours. Not the Buddist Monk who always kept the peace in the world. we would wait and see what happens next. if not for `moneyminded` few monks who work on their own agendas we should be very happy about the Sanga community in SL and around the world.
