The Army had Commanders who gave truck loads of guns to the terrorists. Yet, when interviewed recently, stated that he could have won the war if he had enough weapons and that he even tried to trade tea to Russia for guns. This is hypocrisy at its height. There are many service seniors whose names are tagged with money. Yet, they try to look like saints, embracing various religious figures both mythical and living.
Hats off to Gotabhaya and Gen. Sarath Fonseka, both very straight and clean, for getting Sri Lanka out of this mess.
Since the war is now over, most of the past commanders try to talk about how they would have ended the war. They never thought of those methods when they were in command.
