[She is not a well organised person and that is the recent for her failure. She wanted to had her foot in every possible thing and as a result she could not catch up with her work... On the other hand, when she got elected, everyone had the hope that they somehow want to get her involvment for what ever thing they do. As a result things got delayed and delayed and she could not catchup with at least the main things that she intended to do. At the end it was a disastor... that is how I can look at her time in the office as the president. ]
In the case of Mahinda, it is totally different. He came from a working family and had 20+ years of experience in politics from the grass root to the top. So he was pretty well adgusted to the political environment. That is not the case for Chandrika.
