All the Sinhala people who have taken advantage of discrimination against Tamils since 1956 must share the responsibility. It is the Sinhala `petite bourgeoisie` (lower middle class) who have benefited from this discrimination. They have got the vast majority of government jobs which were denied to Tamil-speaking people.
