[I licked Chandrika`s A$$, I like to lick Mahinda`s A$$. ]
Yarlan asked one good question, why did Pirabakaran elected Mahinda by boycotting votes in the area controlled by LTTE ? My answer is, Pirabakaran knew that Rajapakse will start war. He knew Mahinda will commit atrocities against Tamils. In fact , I believe, V.Pirabakaran wanted to show to the world what the Sri Lankan govt was able to do. In one way he succeeded, because it is exactly what the actual government has done, plenty of crimes against innocent Tamils have been commited by the Sri Lankan State. For that, since Mahinda came to power, Sri Lanka got lot of troubles and human right violation accusations, it is expressed by Sri Lanka entering the top20 failed state index. In the other hand, V.Pirabakaran failed as : 1.He should have protected Tamils from any atrocities. A Ranil govt will have not started a war or commited crimes against Tamils.(or at least at a lesser scale) 2.He failed to get IC and India`s sympathizes as wished. But for sure, V.Pirabakaran reinforced the Tamil unity despite Karuna`s breakaway. Never the support in Tamil Nadu has been so high. What Yarlan understood is that V.Pirabakaran by electing Mahinda started the Final War of Eelam. It is also what V.P wanted, start the final war, but unexpected events happened. Only time will tell us if electing Mahinda was the right thing to do. I believe the military situation still can be inversed in a matter of days as in 1998. |
