General Secretary of the Sri Lanka`s ruling coalition United People`s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Minister Susil Prema Jayantha says that only two Chief Ministers will swear in on Monday.

The announcement came as the Minister of Wildlife and Agrarain Services S.M. Chandrasena was saying that his brother S.M. Ranjith would be sworn in as the Chief Minister of North Central Province.

Minister Susil Prema Jayantha further stated that the final decision regarding the Chief Minister position of the North Central Province would be taken when President Rajapaksa returns to the country.

Former Chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayake pointed out at a press conference held in his house yesterday that no official statement has been released in this regard by the party. He added that he will refrain from serving as a minister in the Provincial Council, if S.M. Ranjith is appointed as the Chief Minister.

It is widely believed that former Chief Minister of Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council Mahipala Herath will also be reappointed to lead the council.

UPFA councilor Mohamed Najeeb Abdul Majeed was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Eastern on Tuesday before President left for India.
