Two children hacked to death

A man had hacked to death two children and their mothers_day.jsp' class=black>mother at their residence in Godakawela last night. Speaking to Ceylon Today Online Police spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana stated that the perpetrator was the woman s paramour, who is her 19-year- old cousin.
The father of the children is employed in Ja-ela and visits the family once a month. The woman s lover, who was a resident of Panamure used to visit them during his absence. However, one day when the woman and her paramour were having intercourse the two children had entered the room and seen it. Fearing that the incident will be revealed, the paramour had gone to the kitchen and grabbed a knife and hacked the two children 12 year old Dimuthu Lakshan and five year old Avishka Mahesh Viduranga, and their mother.
The younger child had died on the way to the Embilipitiya hospital, while the mother is also in critical condition. The older child had later succumbed to his injuries while being transferred from the Embilipitiya hospital to Colombo, he said.
The Godakawela police had arrested the suspect, while further investigations are currently under way
