As the sex scandal at the Cricket Board rocked the country, the foreigner caught in a sex act with a Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) woman employee in the board premises last week is said to be the second top executive of Somerset Entertainment Ventures (SEV), the sponsors of the ongoing T20 Sri Lanka Premier League (SLPL) tournament.
The woman in question is said to be in her mid-twenties and enjoys a whip hand at SLC having served as Secretary to several executives including present CEO Nishantha Ranatunga and former world cup tournament Secretary Suraj Dandaniya.
Frankly, I cannot understand what the fuss is about this so-called sex scandal. After all, two consenting adults have had sex and it is perfectly in keeping with the Sinhala tradition and culture as long as the woman is not married.
Not so long ago, it was quite in order for unmarried Sinhala couple to have sex behind a bush if they felt like it. The only difference here is that this couple had sex inside the Board room of the SLC and why shouldn't they when it is available? Compared to other disgusting corrupt practices that the Board room has been used for, consenting adults having sex according to Sinhala tradition and culture is something that has to be appreciated.
To hell with all the hypocrisy and phony holy attitude and hulla bula. |
