He just can't neglect his family just because he has won the war. Being a husband/father he has got to take care of his family.
I saw another commnet in some other online edition that he and his wife should not eat too much. He should give up drinking red wine and become 'Sothapanna' (kind of sainthood) to be a better President of the country. |

Unfortunately MR is breaking the Health & Safety laws here. If he's visiting a building site, he should be wearing safety boots & a High Vis vest along with a helmet to protect his head.

Viraya what ever you are saying may be correct,but dont you think who ever comes to power they always looked after their families ,unless you dont have a family to be trusted.At least he got rid of the terrorists,others were only talking.This is my opinion as a complte outsider,correct me if I am wrong.
What is the alternative? |

Totaly I agree with you, he did a good job , I am not talking about 'Tsunami Funds', because all of us not saints, but now the whole country going backward not only because of his foolish family members but also his uneducated friends and hench men.There is a buddhist saying in 'Mangala Sutra'

There was one man out of the above catagory, he was 'JR'.He did not make his 'Son' who was capable of handling 'Defence' as the secretary of defence , or chief of 'Air Force', he did not appoint his brilliant brother lawyer 'H.W.J.' as the minister of justice. His wife Madam Thilina .J, never done any business misuseing husband's power, but he brought brillient brains like , Ranjan Wijeratna, Lalith Athulath Mudali, Gamini Disanayaka, Ronie De Mel, Etc:. He did not waste poor citizens money to travel all over the world with his friends and relations, but he appointed one minister for all the foreign functions, what a nice less expencive method.
Only few foolish thing he did were introduceing a constitution of 'Presidentional Parlimentry' system with out thinking , who will be coming to handle this position after his time(Once he said it was a double edged sword), and releaseing Rohana Wijeweera from the prison.
Even LTTE he could finish, but being a far thinking lawyer he knew the after comings of destroying of LTTE instantly(Today we are experiencing that), and tried to destroy LTTE, tigers by their own 'Masters', but unfortunately one 'Bad Appele' in his team 'Mess Up' his plan.
Junious Richard Jayawardana's name going to history as a 'Hero' who escaped the country with the hands of 'Communists' and great man who opend the doors and windows for educated citizens to come to 'High Top Positions' and the generation to go to the 'Outer World' which was not granted by two three decades by different administrations, Example cutting down or crippeling English Language from the education system, to make 'Frogs in the Well' to handle the generation under the boots. .

First of all I wish to say that I am no fan of MR.
Do not be prejudice, MR did not kicked SF, as everybody knows, he asked for it.

Again how do you say his brothers are useless? Gota did his part and doing his part, And Basil also same. If you say MR s brothers are useless come out with facts and figures.
Don t you think your brothers are trust worthy than others for you to entrust responsibilities?

Even JR also did this mistake. If not Ranil would not have come to politics.

Its great to see post war developments in SL..
The project, estimated to cost US$210 million, is 85 percent funded by China and the China CAMC Engineering Corporation will undertake the construction work.
Yan Oya Reservoir Project will boost agricultural production and inland fishery development benefitting the local economy and creating more employment opportunities for the local youth in the Northeast.
Under the project a 2.5 kilometer dam will be constructed at Angurugasweva across the lower side of the Yan Oya to build a reservoir with a capacity of 254 million cubic meters water. Water from the reservoir will be diverted to another major reservoir in Padaviya from which nearly 9,500 hectares will receive irrigation water.
The project would be capable of solving water problems for areas in the North Central Province including Kebithigollewa, Padaviya, Welioya, and Medawchchiya.
