Senior UNPer Karu Jayasuriya said today the government had developed a helicopter mania and were blatantly abusing state resources for their election campaign as never before.
They are using helicopters unnecessarily even to travel a short distance, such as attending a school sports meet, he told a news conference in Colombo this morning.
Mr. Jayasuriya revealed that the government was going to buy another 14 helicopters on a foreign loan. `This exercise was a waste of public resources at a time the war was over. Is it necessary to buy a great number of helicopters after the war? The people are not prepared to believe that the government is buying these helicopters for tourism purposes, he said.
Mr. Jayasuriya said in the absence of the 17th amendment. `We are not guaranteed a free and fair election. An independent police commission was vital to ensure a free and fair election. Under this government it is not the election commissioner who decides the election date but the astrologers, he added.
Mr. Jayasuriya said the government wanted to hold these elections to establish their power not for the wellbeing of the people. Education and agriculture have deteriorated. Despite these burning problems, the government wanted these unnecessary elections even though the provincial councils had several months to complete their tenure,` he said.

Russia gave a $ 3000 million credit line asking to buy their stuff.
Russia wanted the govt to use that credit line because Russia helped at UNHCR.
Now, the politicians have both luxury car permits which they sell at a hefty profit and use the helicopters for every thing. Govt ministers simply can not work if the Helicopters are grounded.
So, the country is developed for them and their henchmen. Even the opposition does not talk these things because once they become the govt, they will do the same. |

That is why all the UNP politicians and one JVP politician are in the cabinet.
Some more were bought per Rs 50 million a piece. they will get MINISTRY posts during the next rearrangement. Another batch will come this time and they expect something in turn as the time goes.

That is why some of his votes were found in the garbage. HE was jailed and methodically strangled him until UNHCR, I mean HILARY, put him out of the jail.
There are many kind of criminals, murderers and people engaged in high treason are in the parliament. Some used LTTE money to become rich people. They are or were not prosecuted.
SF contest the President election that is the criminal activity that SF did. Edited By - AnuD - 8 Aug 2012 13:49:41 GMT |

No war in the country, but need more 'Helicopters'. Srilanka cannot efford to give each 'Family Group Company' member a 'Helicopter' out of 'Poor Citizens Money'.There are citizens in this country who cannot efford to buy a 'Bicycle' to go to work.
This is a good lesson to foolish Srilankan Voters. |
