Chinese couple Zhang Yi Fan and Shen Yao married at a ceremony at Jetwing Light House Hotel, Galle yesterday. The poruwa ceremony in full compliance with Sinhala customs, took place at the auspicious time, giving an unforgettable experience to the couple and the visitors. Having foreseen the opportunity of promoting Sri Lanka as a wedding destination for tourists worldwide and thereby achieving the target of 2.5 million tourists by 2016, the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau also participated in the event. I wish happy married life to the Chinese couple!
but feel sorry for the baby elephant. Is it necessary to mount on an elephant to celebrate the wedding? I think that it is not obligatory,some think customary, though. |

Yes, I agree. In that case, this mahout is courageous and determined enough to tame and train the elephant to do things at his command, and he does not need any slippers to do so. |
