This again brings to light that SL will be better off privatising higher education than keeping it as a public entity. There are a lot of capable kids locked out every year because of the lack of capacity.
I have no problem with private universities but the public universities should not decimated. Most people who attend two year programs at private schools in SL and then going abroad are rich people with little interest in education. Public universities need to ve overhauled with updated curicula and progressive faculty. They should have a tenure systems as it is in US perhaps. The material they teach is so outdated I think. |
