Moreover, if she wanted to get justice done after the attack, she could easily reach the Police Station and complain about the rape. As well she could call/text a Newspaper or a Radio Station as a help (assuming that, she is not aware of other services available for Crime Prevention and women protection). If she did that, then she did not have to hire a High Profile Lawyer to get the justice done in the right way.
If there was a Genuine Rape, it would have been easy to prove unless for her willing participation. Even if she was a victim of the circumstances, she could immediately go to the Police Station and lodged a Complain and could get hospitalized for required DNA verifications.
Why she missed all of those steps is a big question.
how you feel if the country law is not giving protection for them to live as citizens, not even get the justice which they are entitle as citizens.
Here there was no failure of the Justice System. It was a failure of following the required steps in a case of a Crime/Rape, and therefore your concern is not valid here.
It was she who promoted a further criminal acts in this instance, which lead to an assassination of a person based on not proven allegations.
As a conclution a country can have beautifully described very tuff laws to protect the citizens lives and their proprities in the law system only in the 'Law Books', but not 'Practically' apply to the 'Criminals'or apply differently to a person to person (Ex: Baratha's case) because of the third party interferences are completely useless.
First thing is she did not follow the legal steps, and perhaps she lead on her lover/brother/husband to kill the Person, and her questionable behaviour makes her a Suspect in this Case. However, this Case shows that, the Law and Order in this Country is weakening day by day, but the actions of these Criminals are not a Justification of Lawlessness of this Country.
When it comes to Bharatha's Case, it is Balu Kumaaraya (Gota the Dog)'s Drug Buisness, which prevents any action against their Opponent (Kudu Dumiya's Blood Enemy).
It was a Part of the Drug War in Colombo. Using White Van's Balu Kumaaraya has killed all other drug dealers except Kudu Dumiya, and now Balu Kumaaraya became the Monopoly of Drug Buisness in Colombo. That was the reason for not taking any actions against Bharatha's Killer : Sudu Putha AKA Kudu Dumiya!
Balu Kumaaraya (Gota) is leading us to Anarchy on his White Vans! It is high time to remove this arrogant stupid criminal from his position!

| As long as the Mps can be bought for money anything and every thing in SL can be turned upside down with it. so powerless has no say. justice will be served only for those who has good contacts and power of money. |

I believe my friend ' Dubai101' already short and sweet answer your all the issues you noted against to my comments. One more thing in addition to that I have to submit to you my friend as you mentiond about 'Rape' she has to go to the nearest police station and follow up the procedure in accordence to the ' Criminal Procedure'. I agree with you every thing but my learned friend keep in your mind as we are Srilankans , we are poor , but we are very rich in 'Culture' other than other countries in the world. As a victim of a 'Rape' how can a homely woman go to the police and say ' Hey look here I have been raped' by so and so. Our country women are not so much straight forward like western countries, unless other wise well experienced 'Prostitute' , but I agree with you in any other country especially western country, it is not a shame to say 'I have been raped by so and so.On the other hand 'Rape' charge is very hard to prove beyond dought as there is a 'Time Frame' and 'Conscent' , even there was a conscent of the victim if that was given as the results of a 'Blackmail' or ' Threat' or 'unconcious by alcohol or drugs', it can be charged for rape under with out 'Conscent'.
Any how today Srilanka justice system is mainly base on the 'Law of The Sea' . Because in the sea Big Fish always Eate Small Fish , that is the law in Srilanka today. |

A very dangerous trend is now developing in Sri lanka. People are taking the law into their hands and dispensing justice.
Even a cabinet minister has done so by getting his supporters to attack the court house and intimidate the judge when a ruling unfavourable to the cabinet minister was delivered. That is the latest development in the deterioration of law and order in the country.
