Liberty for All,

Looks like your name does not fit on you well...Are you lately started to be on Drugs ? Are you high at the time of writing ?
:)

So, you justify this heineous crime of killing a person based on your story ? Is that the justice, in your terms ?

Then there is no point of having the Justice System here in Sri Lanka and anyone can take the Law into their hands similar to WHITE VAN MURDERER - $hit eating Balu Kumaaraya - Gota.

What a Country is this ? Are we still under the Premitive Sinhala Justice System which justified killing a baby to take the Revenge from the Traitor Ehelepola ?

I thought we are civilized and I thought that we are under the Law of European Civilization where the justice is served in a better way.

Let us assume that your story is true for a moment, but is that a justification of killing a Person that to with most possible uncivilized way ?

In any terms, Rape is not a Crime punishable with Execution under the Sri Lankan Law.!

I guess with Balu Kumaaraya as the defence secretary (Army and Air Force Only) the whole country is getting and pushing into the point of No Return in terms of the Law and Order ....

Looks like Beautiful Lanka is becoming a yet another Afghanistan under the Primitive Extremist Sinhala Buddhist Talebans...!

God Bless Mother Lanka!
May the Soul of assassinated Kapruka Mudalalie rest in Peace!

'Sri Lanka lawyers boycott courts - BBC News
BBC News, 2012-07-20 18:48:09 EST. Court proceedings were disrupted across the country. Lawyers and judges across Sri Lanka have boycotted legal proceedings because of alleged political interference with the judiciary'

Thanks for reminding the 'Values' of 'ManKind', but above is the correct situation of Srilanka justice system today. This is not what the 'Criminal Law' white man given us when they were leaving us.They have given us the 'Capitol Punishment' as 'You shall be hanged until you Die' for the offence of not only 'Murder' but for the 'Conspiracy to Murder' both. In ancient colonial time Criminals Hang in public. But unfortunately one foolish man changed this to 'Life Sentence' and very soon he got 'Bullets' for his 'Breakefirst' in the early morning.
As soon after that 'Somarama, Alfred Soysa,Kalu Albert, Maru Sira, Etc: end up their 'Thuggery Career' at the 'Hangging Doc' , and again 'Hang Man' was taken out of the Criminal Law to protect the 'Political Al Capones' who were safe garding 'Politicians'.
Now we are in the peake of this 'Out Law' and became not even a child can play in the park, either abduct ,or rape, and as you mentiond 'White Van'.You mentiond in Srilankan criminal law rape is not an offence punish by death sentence and it is true, but any developing country criminal law has to be introduced new offences in accordence to the 'Crime Rate' of the country , example Singapore 'Offences connect to Drugs' can be punished by 'Death'. There is a Sinhal Saying 'Wetath Niyarath Goyam Kanam , Kata Pawasanu Me Amaruwa', in other words if in civilized court sytem is politisized and no way of getting the 'Justice' for the 'Crimes', there is no any other alternative other than taking the law in to their hands. Especially a country like Srilanka, has to introduce 'Death Sentence' not only murder and conspiracy to murder, but rape, drugs, abducting, highway robbery, terrorism, and keeping fire arms with out proper authorization. If not as you said this country will become 2nd Somaliya or Afganistan

it has come to a stage that one must provide his own security. if all what has happened was true , then that dark justice at some point should be practiced.

CCTV in the fit on leads to killing: Police

Justice done, if the statements are correct & true...
If the shop owner has done wrong doings with 'customers' he deserved the 'punishment' inflicted by the brother of the victim.
If customers are not safe in such shops, special protection should be allocated by the government....

Looking at the Positive Acceptance (by the LNP Pundits) of a Clear Day Light Murder of a Human by emotionally activated Criminals, I would like to raise the Question of Difference in between Taleban Muslim Fundamentalists and Sri Lankan Sinhala Buddhists ?

Let us assume that, the said event of using CCTVs in the fit room and Raping of the woman by the victim and his subordinate are true. Will that justify the killing of a Human ?

According to the European Law (Roman), any one is innocent until proven otherwise, and more importantly, Capital Punishment is not a Punishment which can be applied on a situation like this.

Looking at the approval of a killing of a (let us say) Rapist, it looks like our Society is overreacting somewhat similar to Muslim Fundamentalists.

I guess we are not under the Primitive Sinhala Buddhist Law, which approves such punishments as mentioned in Our History as 32 different brutal punishments, and more than 80% of them (around 22) are the ways of applying torture before the perosn is eventually get killed.

There is no difference in between Buddhist Punishments and those of Talebans!

....and those who commend this heinous crime of killing a Person using swords are none other than Buddhist Taleban Supporters.

God Bless Sri Lanka!

Please do not mixup or connect or blend this articale with either Buddhism, Islamic or Christianity. This is an issue related to the protection of the lives and properties of the citizens of a country , especially Srilanka, where today 'Criminal Law' became politisiezd. If you go threw my previous comment (Small caption of BBC news) you can see my learned friend , how this country magistrates, judges have been treated by third parties , when the case is conducting. If the situation is this today, I am putting this question to you, my learned friend, as an normal poor man became victimised by a rapiest or any criminal what is the remedy they have to get the 'Justice' . As you said the base of Srilanka Criminal Law,( 'Roman Dutch Law') very clearly says 'Have to prove the crime beyond reasonable dought', I agree with you, I agree with you, again and again but in this particular country , particular 'Justice System' those nice tuny rulls are not observed, and those well framed laws and orders have been upheld from a person to person. If you are a regular reader of the news articles in Srilanka newspapers I believe you red one high executive of the present government very openly shouted 'I do not care for the law'. This statement reflects 'What is the law system in this country'
My learned friend please open your eyes and look around, if this thing realy happend to you or your sister, wife or your mother, how you feel if the country law is not giving protection for them to live as citizens, not even get the justice which they are entitle as citizens.
My learned friend a country's Legal Systems have to change from a country to country inaccordence to the requiremens of the country's needs to give the maximum protection and safety for the citizens and their proprities. Example country like United States criminal law system mainly base keeping 'Freedom' for the citizens, but never keep any loope hole for any kind of crime . Very good example is 'Drugs'. One can argive 'We have freedom in this country to do any thing so I can keep Drugs with me' but not in America, if charged for Drug, punishment is 'Jail Tearm', but the same offence in 'Singapore' punishment is 'Death'.
Look in to Gulf Countries, death sentence impose for varities of offences and very serious punishments impose cutting fingers and more for some kind of 'Theft'.

CONT:

As a conclution a country can have beautifully described very tuff laws to protect the citizens lives and their proprities in the law system only in the 'Law Books', but not 'Practically' apply to the 'Criminals'or apply differently to a person to person (Ex: Baratha's case) because of the third party interferences are completely useless. Justice has to be done and has to be seen that it has been done.
When the country system is not doing the justice, it is natural some body has to do the job. That is what has happend in this case if the police investigations are true.
In Roman Law it says very clearly 'Tooth to Tooth and Eye Ball to Eye Ball' ,that is the base of this great Roman Law worked out in ancient 'Rome' . If Srilanka political situation not change to better that 'Roman Law' TOOTH TO TOOTH- EYE BALL TO EYE BALL will happen in Srilanka very soon.

Looks like you agree that there are differences in punishments for the same crime in different parts of the world. May I ask you to evaluate the differences and let us know which system(s) or Country has a More Humanistic Approach on those Crimes ?

That Country must be a Country of a Great Civilization, and of course Tribal living primitive thinking Talebans cannot have such humanistic approach towards Crimes.

If you position Sri Lanka in that scale, where the Talebs have the lowest position, I afraid that, we will be positioned next to the Talebs!

as an normal poor man became victimised by a rapiest or any criminal what is the remedy they have to get the 'Justice' . Yes, I agree with you that, the poor girl may not be able to hire a proper lawyer to represent her properly and also the legal process may give an unwarranted exposure to her family. I agree with you upto some extent, but if she wanted to deliver the ''so called justice'' through her lover/brother/husband that is also not right. Perhaps, it may be a story by herself to prove that she is innocent, while there was no rape and she was a willing participant.
