Criminal charges against 16 Sri Lankan politicians within a year
July 22, Colombo: Sri Lanka police reports show that 16 politicians of various ranks have been leveled with corruption and misconduct charges within a period of about a year.
Among these politicians are a cabinet Minister, a Deputy Minister, a Provincial Councilor, several Chairmen of the local government bodies and local government members.
According to police records, they are accused of murder, child abuse, rape, forcible acquisition of property, arson and treasure hunting. Legal action has been taken against all the accused politicians.
Police records point out that the majority of these politicians are of the ruling party of the government.
Country was saved from terrorists.
Now it needs to be liberated from these corrupt, thug politicians. |
