| These punishment should be publicized very well and that will be a deterrence to other people who think about killing. |

| There's a little publicised problem with affluent youth in Colombo, who partake in drink and drugs - which is fine, but these affluent youth think they can go around and do anything they want, because of their parents status in society. |

| They always think that they are few meters above the ground level and will start thinking now how many meters they will be descending from the ground level if the capital punishment will really carry out. |

| Yeah, they should bring the death penalty back. If that was there, people would think twice, instead of thinking 'mama x,y or z would sort me out'. Even that fat pig velu could have been caught alive and put on trial and executed along with all his terrorist accomplices, and we would look less barbaric to the rest of the world. Bring the death penalty back! |

This is the results of broken marriages and families. Lack of proper supervision, the children go astray. Really blame also should go to the parents and mete out some sort of punishment for their negligence.
I think we all agree that capital punishment should be brought in as soon as possible. Country is getting utterly lawless. We should hold a memorandum. |

It is not exactly the law but how it is implemented. Right now, SL has reached its lowest levels in the implementation of law. It is progressively getting worse by the day thanks to political interference.
The reason for this is the almost UNLIMITED POWER the Constitution gives the President.
Unless the Constitution is changed by removing the ABSOLUTE POWER the President enjoys and make him accountable, there will be no deterrence or any significant drop in Crimes and breach of law

.......should Hang in Public.
Recently there was a case in Saudi Arabia where 5 Bangaldeshi's were hung in public and kept for two days for rape and murder. It is not a bad idea. |
