Sri Lanka is one of the Asian countries where Apple has decided to open an iTune store to sell music, videos and movies.

In a move to enter into the growing market for Apple in Asia seven years after the company established a store in Japan, Apple has returned to the Asisn market with the opening of iTunes in 12 locations of the Asian continent.

The company said Wednesday that it will open iTunes stores also in Singapore, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Brunei, Cambodia and Laos.

However, China which accounts for a big part of Apple's revenues, was not among the countries that get an iTune store.

With the opening of an iTune store iPhone, iPad, iPod, Mac and PC users will be able to choose from among more than 20 million songs, from local and international artists, as well as buy and rent movies from the new iTunes stores across Asia, the company said today in a statement.
