A Tale of Two Nations..One Democracy & other Democrazy failed state...

Monday, 18 June 2012 - 11:22 PM SL Time

Democratic Nation Britain

Spokesman of the UK embassy in SriLanka said that the UK Prime Minister David Cameroon did not apologies to President Mahinda Rajapaksa for cancelling his speech schedule to deliver at the Commonwealth Economic Forum.

This was not a decision of Britain Government. Commonwealth Economic Forum has taken such decision. It was an independent organization.

We always respect the right to protest of British citizens.

Chaotic Nation Sinhala lanka

The Jaffna District Court, after considering a petition filed by Jaffna police, issued an order preventing a protest to be held by the Tamil National People`s Front (TNPF) today near the Jaffna Bus Stand.

Judge M. Ganesarasa ordered the protest suspended, the protestors to be dispersed and stated that legal action will be taken against those not adhering to the court order.

Several parties including the Democratic People`s Front (DPF) had pledged support to the protest campaign organized by the Tamil National People`s Front (TNPF), against alleged illegal land grabbing taking place in the North.

While Britain gave respect to the voices of Tamils who had to cross various hurdles before being recognized as their citizens, Eelam tamils have their voice stiffled up thanks to Sinhala lanka using various means to suppress them...

Sinhala lanka will not be able to suppress for long...

Tamil National People's Front (TNPF)

*laugh out loud*

I can see TNPF' Gajendran leading from the front. Gajendran known by many even in Jaffna as 'horse riding'. The following is his Biography written by University Teachers of Jaffna.

UTHR (J) Special Report - Political Killings and Sri Lanka s Stalled Peace
Jaffna: The goons takeover and fears of war

The visible leader of the agitation was Gajendran, leader of the International Students Union, master vote rigger and now MP with the highest preference vote. When the LTTE entered Jaffna to set up political offices in April 2002, Gajendran swore that if the Army did not leave Jaffna, 48 000 troops would 'fertilise its soil' of Jaffna. He was seen at large issuing orders, and at the burning of the SLFP office. Others assisting him included Mohan and Suthan from LTTE intelligence. Probing deeper into these agitational tactics elicited some frightening facts.

The LTTE s record of ruin inevitably touched Jaffna s much esteemed and painstakingly built system of education. Jaffna University is virtually controlled by the likes of Gajendran and intelligence cadres sent to the University, frequently from the Vanni by the equestrian method, or simply horse riding in colloquial Tamil. Their interest in studies is such that an equestrian entrant scoring nearly zero at every examination comes as no surprise. In the case of one caught cheating the matter was quickly hushed up by the authorities. In one faculty now, six intelligence cadres are well known, while others are less known. Among their jobs is to control the students and to get the University involved in agitation against the Army when ordered.

Eelam tamil as well ????

Well, not just murder but major vote rigging as well. Here is how these TNA types even Padmini Sithamparanathan and Ponnamablam rigged voted.

Having fashioned a parliamentary group the TNA to tamely promote the LTTE(P) s claim to be the sole representatives of the Tamils, the LTTE was determined to extract every strategic use from it. It was important enough that intelligence chief Pottu was placed directly in charge. The blatant rigging of the last elections and the failure of the Government to check the abuse despite repeated complaints have been amply documented in the reports of independent election monitors.

These figures are the result of extensive fraud and violent attacks, threats and harassment of the opposition and the voters themselves. One could say without hesitation that at least 100 000 of the 112 077 preference votes supposedly obtained by Gajendran in 2004 were fraudulent, as with about 170 000 of the 257 320 votes credited to the TNA in Jaffna. Thus even the last vestiges of democratic choice among the Tamils were utterly bankrupted. That was not the most sinister aspect of the whole exercise.

Suresh Premachandran performed the marvelous feat of increasing his preferential vote to 45 783 from 13 302 in 2001, which too was notoriously fraudulent. Also on the TNA list, long time LTTE ally C.V.K. Sivagnanam obtained 25 954 and failed to get elected. Sivagnanam was, in 1987, LTTE s nominee to the aborted North-East Interim Council, when Premachandran, as General Secretary of the EPRLF, was its arch-enemy. Sivagnanam was deeply offended, since the votes were a measure, not of the people s regard for him, but rather the LTTE s. This was an election in which the LTTE assigned the votes!

'Mandate from Tamil people' indeed.

The preference votes tell their own story:

Gajendran: 112 077, Padmini Sithamparanathan: 68 239, G.G. Ponnamablam: 60 768, Suresh Premachandran: 45 783. TULF s Mavai Senathirajah scraped through with
38 779. A popular figure such as Sivamaharajah lost with 24 964.

The electoral list was the same one used in 2001 when the TNA obtained a total of 102 214 (less than Gajendran s preference vote. But this time a section from Vanni also voted!). In 2001, Anandasangaree and Mavai Senathiraja led with more than 33,000

preference votes
about a third the number obtained by the party, and 20 000 to 30 000 of the TNA s votes were fraudulent. In 2004, the TNA increased its vote from 102 324 (or 55.8% of votes counted) to 257 320 (or 90.6%). The EPDP s share dropped from 58 000 (or 30.6%) in 2001 to 18 612 (or 6.55%) in 2004.
